Last Sunday was my first race at Mount Snow as well as my first race being apart of the CMCC powered by Mathieu’s Cycle and Fitness race team. An unforgettable experience, my last few races I was alone with just my Fiance and myself. The team feeling was just the change of pace I needed for a revamped ready for racing feeling. The weather was perfect, The fall foliage and cooler temperatures made for some amazing riding.
The track was relatively short but still a challenge with super high speeds and a few steep technical sections that really kept the mind sharp. After a bad crash in practice and a flat tire that same day I embraced the chance to overcome the slight negativity! For my final race run I ended with a time of 2:37 good enough for 7th place in my class. I was aiming to place slightly higher but at the end of the day I had a clean race run and left injury free as well as a new outlook on racing. Having fun on the bike, making new friends, being happy with runs, staying injury free and being on a team that I really feel is a perfect fit. THATS RACING!
